The Hills Are Alive With The Sound of Music

Salzburg- known to world as the home of the Vantrap family as well as the Sound Of Music movie. Having only one full day we scheduled the cheesy and awesome, Sound of Music tour. As the bus pulled up with Julia Andrews and the children how could you not just smile. As we picked people up I would always watch the men's faces it was just hilarious. I turned to my mom and was like " I bet she made him come on" she laughed and we asked them and sure enough that was the fact.
No matter how cheesy it was, we ate it right up! We got to see the back if the house where Maria and the children fall out of the canoe. The front  of the house( different location) and the gazebo though sadly didn't get to go on the inside because some 90 year old lady was jumping from bench to bench and broke something closing the inside to visitors.  We than drove to some beautiful picturesque locations including a lake, hills and the church used for filming. It was really beautiful, ate a streusel and to end the tour sang Edelweiss and took a picture with the sound of music cow!
We ate at this adorable little garden cafe with the most divine salad and the surfers wore real Lederhosen. Something that was different, and I guess this is how it is in most places in Europe is that eating  especially at a restaurant is more of an experience and really about the social part of dinner. We had to practically chase them down to get the bill to get out.
