My Blog on Prague....

Our first day we took a free walking tour! It was great and by far one of our favorite tours. We started off at the astronomical clock, something that unique to Czech Republic is that everyday practically is a holiday,  375 days a year they celebrate a name, the astronomical clock displays name. It is very rare for someone in Czech Republic to not have one of these names, they even make you go as far to have a comittee approve of the name if you don't pick one of these  names. The free walking tour was great because not only did we get to see and here about the town we also got an orientation and knew where we wanted to come back and spend more time.  We got to see another church the castle and even a chance to see the changing of the gards.
We love the tour so much that we than scheduled the castle tour with the same company, all I can say is that it was sooooo much walking! We were pretty much dead the next day! After we woke up later we found that the bone church where we wanted to go we would have to go that day or not at all. So 30 mins later we were on tour with others to go see the bone chapel aka Kutna Hora. Now this chapel is one from the medivel times during a terrible plague, now due to the surplus of people who wanted to be baried there ( due to the fact that someone went to jeresulem and brought back some dirt and placed it there) that they had so many people that for what ever reason they decided to  decorate with human bones. It may sound cool but once you get in there is a little disqusing.
Now since we often have to drive places we've got to experience some... Interesting ways of the road. Some places we just find its best to just close your eyes til you get to the destination. When the people pass in Prague there's not a passing lane like at home you just simply go in the middle of the two roads and just the other two cars just get over on the road Andy pretty much you just make a third lane. Very frightening at times lol.We than got to see another beautiful church and got to wander through the city near by.
Thinking why not, we decided to try  a few traditional dishes , we we tried roast duck and dumpblings aka pieces of bread. now dont get me wrong it wss good just not to what im used too.
We than spent the next day in the Jewish Quarters seeing synagogues, museums and my favorite, the cemetery which due to lack of space given to the Jews, baried over 100,000 people with only 12, 000 head stones being placed they even had to resort to digging over a a mile Down and barring bodies on Top of each other . The site was really fascinating!  We also got to see there memorial to the holocost, where they had childrens drawings displaying what they saw and what there lives were like, it really touchd us.  Before world war one they had an imense numbers of jews living in prague now to honor those that died they worte all there names along with date of birth and death on the walls of this former synagogue. Out of respect we didn't take pictures of the museames and synagoogs and the cemetary cost to be able to take photos but thanks to google I was able to find some pictures of the cemetery Here ya go!

The last day we just wandered the city and stopped by Charles bridge again, the top side pictures you see that we're touching then plaque by touching the plaque it is said that you will come someday come back to Prague!  The middle pictures of the dog mean that your dog will live forever, just for Rosie  jk I guess people just got board of waiting and touch other plaques that are on the bridge. Moreover on our last day we got to listen to some great street performers. Now sometimes in our travels we come across odd things, like in berlin the donkey playing guitar but here had to be the oddest! At a tai spa we saw shrek getting his dead skin removed by fish... Had I take a picture of that... Or perhaps the drunk men  going from bar to bar showing us that they stole a reserved sign and other objects, the other group of men wearing literhosen ( also drunk) and of coudse we  had princess Meredith ( from disneys brave) as our  tour guide. All In any normal day in Prague!
Our look alike tour guide, accent and all.
